Luxuriate Your Life Pte Ltd將成為這些物品的最終用戶。
Singaporean authorities are intensifying their efforts to investigate 22 individuals and several companies involved in a broader scheme that allegedly pertains to the smuggling of artificial intelligence chips to China. This development has generated considerable interest and apprehension regarding the organized activities underlying these actions.
According to a report by Channel NewsAsia, it is believed that the cases pertain to the smuggling of NVIDIA chips intended for utilization by DeepSeek. However, the source of this information has not been officially verified or disclosed. Thus far, the Singaporean government has not provided a response to inquiries concerning whether these allegations truly involve NVIDIA and DeepSeek.
Court documents indicate that charges have been brought against two citizens of Singapore. Aaron Woon Guo Jie, aged 41, and Alan Wei Zhaolun, aged 49, are facing accusations of conspiring to defraud a server supplier in the year 2024 by means of false statements. It is alleged that they misrepresented their intent regarding the transfer of items to unauthorized users, thereby engaging in fraudulent activities.
Moreover, a third suspect, Li Ming, a 51-year-old Chinese national, stands accused of defrauding a server supplier in 2023. He allegedly did so by falsely asserting that the registered Singaporean company, Luxuriate Your Life Pte Ltd, would serve as the ultimate user of the aforementioned items.
NVIDIA, DeepSeek, and Luxuriate Your Life have not issued public statements regarding these matters. Should the accused be found guilty, they may incur a sentence of up to 20 years in prison, monetary penalties, or both. Furthermore, neither the police authorities nor the court documents have elaborated on the specific items involved or disclosed the identity of the server supplier.
On the preceding Wednesday, local law enforcement, in collaboration with customs authorities, executed a coordinated operation, resulting in the arrest of nine individuals and the raiding of 22 locations, during which documents and electronic records were confiscated.
It is noteworthy that Singapore represents NVIDIA’s second-largest market, following the United States. According to a recent report published by NVIDIA, Singapore contributed 18% to the total revenue in the most recent fiscal year. However, the actual shipment volumes to this Asian trade hub account for less than 2% of the total revenue, as clients generally utilize Singapore as an invoicing center for transactions to other nations.
In the previous week, the Foreign Minister of Singapore, Vivian Balakrishnan, pledged to maintain the integrity of the multilateral export control regime. He emphasized that the authorities in Singapore will not accept any forms of evasion, deceit, false declarations, or miscalculations. These assertions reaffirm Singapore’s dedication to rigorously combating illicit commercial activities with steadfast resolve.
