Nottingham’s trending dining establishment, The Seafood Guy by 1998 Cafe (正嘢冰室), is poised to emerge as a centre for cultural exchange and community development with the inauguration of “Monday Exchange Night,” a collaborative initiative led by the Descendants of Victoria City (維城後裔). This pioneering program aspires to facilitate the integration of Hongkongers into UK society by cultivating significant connections with local British residents.
Building Bridges, One Monday at a Time
The “Monday Exchange Night” initiative aims to furnish a supportive and informative platform for Hongkongers acclimating to life in the United Kingdom. Each Monday evening, a select group of participants will convene at The Seafood Guy by 1998 Cafe, to partake in candid and constructive dialogues with local British volunteers. These volunteers will serve in the capacity of advisors and listeners, sharing their personal experiences, offering pragmatic advice, and imparting invaluable cultural insights.
The founder of the Descendants of Victoria City, Henry Wong, stated, “We believe that these personal connections can make a real difference in the lives of those navigating a new culture.” The objective is to establish a welcoming environment in which individuals from Hong Kong can inquire, share their experiences, and cultivate lasting relationships with their new community.
A Huge Thank You to The Seafood Guy by 1998 Cafe
This crucial initiative would not be feasible without the generous support of local businesses. The Descendants of Victoria City extend their heartfelt gratitude to The Seafood Guy by 1998 Cafe. In light of their welcoming atmosphere and generous offer to provide one complimentary beverage to all participants, The Seafood Guy by 1998 Cafe establishes an ideal environment for these significant discussions. We sincerely appreciate this support.
