泰國,曾經是許多人心目中的旅遊天堂:美麗的海灘、雄偉的寺廟、熱情的微笑,以及物美價廉的美食。然而,我最近的泰國之旅卻徹底顛覆了我的想像,讓我不得不重新思考這個國家是否還能維持其昔日的魅力。這次旅程充斥著令人失望,甚至憤怒的經歷,這些負面事件共同指向泰國旅遊業亟待解決的深層次問題,以及航空公司服務的嚴重缺失。
首先,令人髮指的「KK園」事件餘波盪漾,其負面影響已遠遠超出事件本身。我明顯感受到部分泰國人對大陸遊客,甚至所有華人遊客的敵意。這種不友善的氛圍,從店家敷衍的態度,到路人冷漠的眼神,無處不在。曾經引以為傲的「泰式微笑」已蕩然無存,取而代之的是冷漠和不耐煩。
其次,交通問題成為這次旅程的一大噩夢。Grab,這個在東南亞廣泛使用的叫車應用程式,在泰國卻成了宰客的工具。多名司機獅子大開口,甚至在行程途中臨時加價,或以沒有現金為由強行收取額外的「隧道費」。更令人髮指的是,一位Grab司機竟然在半路停車,勒索額外費用才肯繼續行程。這種毫無職業道德的行為,不僅令人感到不安,更嚴重損害了遊客對Grab及泰國整體交通服務的信任。傳統的士服務同樣令人失望,許多司機拒絕使用計價器,漫天要價,令人防不勝防。
更雪上加霜的是回程的經歷。我購買的是英國航空的機票,手提行李限重23公斤,但由於英航沒有直航泰國,我必須轉乘卡塔爾航空 (Qatar Airways)。出發時,我的手提行李(含兩部電腦、一部相機及文書用品)約重10公斤。儘管我在回程前一天晚上多次向英航確認行李限重,卡塔爾航空的地勤人員卻在素萬那普國際機場聲稱我的手提行李超重7公斤,且電腦和相機不能託運。 更令人氣憤的是,我前一天晚上嘗試線上辦理登機手續,卻因系統問題(可能與ETA或BNO護照有關)失敗,無法線上購買額外行李額度。 抵達素萬那普國際機場後,我多次說明情況,但地勤人員堅持要我先去自助櫃檯,直到發現我的護照顯示其他英國國籍後,才不情願、不耐煩地帶我到人工櫃檯,白白浪費了我30多分鐘寶貴時間。 即使到了人工櫃檯,他們仍藉ETA問題刁難我,甚至一名職員(其中一人為主管)用私人手機拍攝我的分享代碼,卻拒絕說明原因。我明確表示要投訴並要求知道三位刁難我的地勤人員姓名,但他們拒絕提供,並以不耐煩的態度叫我自行到官網提交意見。 相比之下,我逼不得已購買阿聯酋航空的機位,則沒有遇到任何類似問題。 卡塔爾航空的地勤人員不僅態度粗魯,更缺乏解決問題的能力。
在被迫購買阿聯酋航空機票後,我前往卡塔爾航空櫃檯取消回程機票以避免「No Show」罰款。然而,地勤人員卻堅持要我聯絡英國航空取消,聲稱必須遵守英航的規定。 我感到非常詫異,詢問為何在這個階段卻要聯絡英航,畢竟手提行李超重問題與英航無關,但他們仍然拒絕協助我聯絡英航。
除了上述經歷,泰國旅遊配套的整體下降也令人失望。例如,曾經熱鬧非凡的自助餐,如今食客寥寥,菜餚質量也明顯下降。許多過去評價良好、價格合理的餐廳,如今價格大幅提高,已與國際大都市看齊。

更令人難以忍受的是,我在泰國期間每天至少接到三個詐騙電話,內容千奇百怪,從冒充銀行職員到謊稱中獎,擾人清靜。這些詐騙電話嚴重影響了我的旅遊心情,也凸顯了泰國在打擊詐騙方面的不足。
這次泰國之旅充滿了負面體驗。雖然泰國仍擁有迷人的自然風光和豐富的文化底蘊,但一系列令人失望的事件,嚴重損害了我的旅遊體驗。「KK園」事件的陰影、Grab司機的漫天要價和中途勒索、的士司機的拒絕使用計價器、卡塔爾航空地勤人員的不專業、歧視性行為和拒絕提供職員姓名、旅遊配套的下降以及無休止的詐騙電話,共同揭示了泰國旅遊業存在的嚴峻問題。
這些問題不僅損害了泰國的國際形象,更嚴重削弱了其作為旅遊勝地的核心競爭力——友善的服務和可靠的旅遊體驗。除非泰國政府及相關部門積極應對這些問題,並採取切實有效的措施改善旅遊環境,否則「泰國不再是旅遊天堂」的聲音將越來越大。我由衷希望泰國能儘快重拾昔日魅力,讓遊客再次感受到那份久違的熱情和微笑。
Thailand has long been esteemed as a coveted destination for countless travelers, celebrated for its idyllic beaches, magnificent temples, hospitable populace, and reasonably priced cuisine and services. However, my recent visit has raised doubts regarding this nation’s ability to maintain its former allure. My journey was characterized by disheartening and, at times, frustrating experiences, illuminating the serious issues pervasive within Thailand’s tourism sector and considerable shortcomings in airline services.
Firstly, the distressing consequences of the “KK Garden Scam Center” scandal continue to reverberate throughout the nation. The implications reach well beyond the incident itself. I observed a marked animosity from certain Thai individuals toward mainland Chinese tourists, which also appeared to extend to other visitors of Chinese descent. This unfriendly environment, characterized by the dismissive demeanor of shopkeepers and the icy gazes of bystanders, was all-encompassing. The once-celebrated “Thai smile” appears to have dissipated, supplanted by detachment and impatience.
Secondly, transportation has evolved into a considerable challenge. Grab, the widely used ride-hailing application, has transformed into a mechanism for imposing excessive charges in Thailand. Numerous drivers have insisted on inflated fares, occasionally introducing additional “tunnel fees” subsequent to the commencement of the trip, citing insufficient cash. Even more disconcerting was an incident in which a Grab driver abruptly halted mid-journey, insisting on further payment prior to continuing the trip. Such unprofessional conduct was profoundly unsettling and significantly undermined my confidence in Grab and the transportation services available in Thailand as a whole. Traditional taxi services were equally disappointing, as many drivers declined to utilize the meter and demanded inflated fares, thereby leaving tourists vulnerable to exploitation.
My return journey proved to be considerably more arduous than anticipated. I had secured a reservation with British Airways, which included a hand baggage allowance of 23 kilograms; however, it is pertinent to note that British Airways does not operate direct flights to Thailand. This situation necessitated a connection via Qatar Airways. On my outbound flight, my hand luggage, containing two laptops, a camera, and work- related documents, weighed approximately 10 kilograms. Despite having confirmed my baggage allowance with British Airways on multiple occasions the evening prior to my return, the staff at Qatar Airways at Suvarnabhumi Airport insisted that my hand luggage exceeded the allowance by 7 kilograms, asserting that laptops and cameras could not be checked in. Compounding this issue, my attempts to check in online the previous night were thwarted by a system- related problem, potentially linked to my ETA or BNO passport, which hindered my ability to purchase additional baggage allowance. At Suvarnabhumi Airport, despite my repeated efforts to clarify my circumstances, the staff insisted that I utilize a self- service kiosk before, somewhat reluctantly and impatiently, directing me to a staffed counter upon observing the multiple British nationalities indicated on my passport. This process resulted in a delay exceeding 30 minutes. Even at the staffed counter, they continued to impose obstacles, citing the ETA as a rationale. One staff member, identified as a supervisor, even utilized their personal mobile device to photograph my sharing code without providing any explanation. In stark contrast, I encountered no such challenges during my return flight with Emirates. The personnel of Qatar Airways exhibited not only discourteous behavior but also a lack of competence in resolving the situation, merely instructing me to contact British Airways, despite the absence of a British Airways counter at Suvarnabhumi Airport. Consequently, I found it necessary to purchase a ticket with Emirates for my return journey home.
In addition to these negative experiences, the overall tourism infrastructure in Thailand has undergone a decline. Buffets, which were once characterized by high patronage, now demonstrate a considerable reduction in the number of customers, accompanied by a notable decrease in food quality. Numerous restaurants that were previously well-reviewed and reasonably priced have significantly raised their prices, making them comparable to those found in major international cities.
To further complicate an already regrettable situation, I received no fewer than three fraudulent calls each day during my visit. These calls included impersonations of banking officials as well as notifications regarding fabricated lottery winnings. The relentless frequency of these calls significantly disrupted my travel experience and highlighted the ongoing challenges Thailand faces in combating telephone scams.
In conclusion, my visit to Thailand was predominantly negative. Although Thailand continues to exhibit remarkable natural beauty and a profound cultural heritage, a succession of deeply disappointing incidents significantly detracted from my experience. The enduring ramifications of the “KK Garden” incident, the exorbitant fares charged by Grab drivers, mid-journey extortions, the refusal of taxi drivers to utilize meters, the unprofessional and discriminatory conduct exhibited by Qatar Airways staff, the deterioration of tourism infrastructure, and the incessant scam calls collectively highlight substantial, unresolved challenges within Thailand’s tourism sector.
These issues not only undermine Thailand’s international reputation but also diminish its fundamental competitive advantage as a tourist destination: exceptional service and dependable travel experiences. Unless the Thai government and pertinent agencies proactively tackle these issues and enforce effective measures to enhance the tourism environment, the perception of Thailand as a tourist paradise will persist in its decline. It is my earnest hope that Thailand can regain its former allure and once again provide visitors with the warmth and authentic hospitality for which it was historically renowned.
